- Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations: FAO
FAO serves as a knowledge network. Through collaboration of experts in various disciplines FAO collects, analyses and disseminates data that aid development, and publishes hundreds of newsletters, reports and books, distribute several magazines, create numerous CD-ROMS and host dozens of electronic fora. FAO provides access to 13 different statistical databases.
- FAOSTAT Statistics
FAOSTAT provides access to over 3 million time-series and cross sectional data relating to food and agriculture. FAOSTAT contains data for 200 countries and more than 200 primary products and inputs, just in its core. The new FAOSTAT will be progressively released during the remainder of the year. Its new national version CountrySTAT, which is being developed and deployed in a score of pilot countries, offers a two-way bridge amongst sub national, national and international statistics on food and agriculture.
- Statistical Universe
LexisNexis Statistical enables easy access to statistics produced by the U.S. government, major international intergovernmental organizations, professional and trade organizations, commercial publishers, independent research organizations, state government agencies, and universities. Optional modules can be added to expand the number of PowerTables and to allow searching of CIS abstracts of statistical publications. - Illinois Agricultural Statistics Service
The Illinois Agricultural Statistics Service (IASS) prepares and issues official USDA estimates that include acres planted and harvested, yield per acre and production of the major crops, number of livestock on farms, livestock products, stocks of agricultural commodities, value and utilization of farm products, prices received and paid by farmers, and cost of producing crop and livestock commodities.
- National Agricultural Statistics Service
The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) conducts hundreds of surveys every year and prepares reports covering virtually every aspect of U.S. agriculture-production and supplies of food and fiber, prices paid and received by farmers, farm labor and wages, farm finances, chemical use, and changes in the demographics of U.S. producers.

Statistical information for specific states is available in the Funk ACES Library. Refer to the chart provided for the titles, years of coverage, call number and links to information online. Years of coverage varies greatly from state to state. For additional help with statistical information please talk to the Funk ACES reference staff.
- U.S. Statistical Abstract
The Statistical Abstract of the United States, published since 1878, is the authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States. Sources of data include the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, and many other Federal agencies and private organizations
- Global Market Information Database
GMID is an online business information system providing business intelligence on countries, consumers, and industries. GMID provides access to statistics, market reports, company profiles and information sources. The database covers 52 countries and more than 300 consumer products.
- Census of Agriculture
Census of Agriculture is a service of the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service providing agricultural statistics for the US, states, and counties.
- Index Mundi
Index Mundi provides comprehensive country profile including statists and enables both keyword and geographical area search
- Foreign Agricultural Services
The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the USDA produces hundreds of documents each year that chart and analyze production, consumption, trade flows, and market opportunities for about 100 agricultural products. These include Periodical reports; FAS Worldwide; Market-and commodity-specific reports; Trade leads, foreign buyers lists, and U.S. suppliers list; and News releases and program announcements. In addition FAS collects and analyzes international statistics and market information. You can search statistics using a range of databases including Import and Export Data, Production, Supply and Distribution Database, WTO Agricultural Trade Policy Commitments Database, and others.
